My aunt and I hope to drive through Audubon County this month to do genealogical research on the Firman/Freeman/Furman Drake Family. Firman (1820-1886) is my gggrandfather. His daughter, Mary "Minnie" Drake married Robert M. Carpenter, Superintendent of Schools (1878) and Postmaster (1888). Carpenter also owned the
Audubon County Advocate.
Is the Advocate still published; are archive copies available for research? Any other resources that would be helpful?
