Hello! I am looking for information about a photographer named Olsen who was working in Audubon in the early 1900s. He's not necessarily related to my family; however, I recently came across a studio portrait of a woman circa 1900-1910, who is probably a relative, and the photo bears the mark "Olsen/Audubon, Iowa." This is the only information I have to trace the woman's identity.
The photo is in a collection of old photos of my great-grandmother's family; her maiden name was Aanonsen, and she immigrated from Fjaere, near Grimstad, Norway, to Brooklyn, NY. Before finding this Iowa photo, I was not aware of any family members immigrating to Iowa, so I am curious to trace this mystery woman.
If anyone has information about the Olsen photography studio--are the studio records preserved in a local archives or historical society?--I would greatly appreciate it! I work in a photo archives in Washington state and know that sometimes the original film envelopes with customer order information survive...
Thanks for your help!
