In Response To: Re: John Hanley and Susan O'Laughlin died in a fire? (Dick)

Hi Dick, you are so right and I apologize!! My main interest is in locating descendants of Susan & John. I am assuming John , Susan & children were in the Allamakee County area until the deaths of John and Susan. Susan would have been my ggaunt. She was born in Union Prairie Allamakee, married in Union Prairie Allamakee and is buried in St Johns WestRidge Allamakee. I dont know if they lived in the West Ridge area during thier marriage. I know Susans parents Terrence and Bridget O'laughlin by 1870 lived & died in the West Ridge area, unsure about John Hanley. I know on the census it is stated he was born in NY and by 1870 I find him in Union Prairie. I can only find informaton on three of the children- Katie, Terrence & James. James was in the Lansing area 1920-1930 married to Ellen Olaff. Kathryn " Katie" married to Michael Ward by 1910-- I found a Kathryn and Michael Ward listed in 1910 Buffalo SD & 1930 Scobey Montana. Dont know for sure if it is the Ward family of Katie Hanley. I found a Terrence married to a Zeta unknown in 1930 in Dubuque Ia, no record after that & I find a Zeta Hanley dying in Oakland Calif 1978 again dont know for sure if it is the son Terrence- I assume it is. The only information I have on the other children is of the Julien Dubuque County orphange of 1900 census, and Daniel the farmhand for the Byrnes in 1900 census. I am hoping there are O'Laughlins, Olaffs, Wards or Hanleys still in the Westride/Allamakee/Lansing area who might know of this family or the whereabouts of descendants. I have a picture and a little information on the O'laughlins I would like to share with them and hopefully learn more about Terrence O'Laughlin's daughter Susan and family to add to my research.

Thanks again Dick in future querys I will try to add more of the searchable information!!

Tammy
