Ludwig & Marie Dee Andres' oldest daughter's given name was Elsa - nickname Elsie. Elsa was born in Germany on September 17, 1873. Date of Death was February, 1968 in Enumclaw, Washington.
Elsa married Dr. Frederick George Ulman who was born in Michigan to William & Julia (nee Fox) Ulman. He passed away at the age of 71 on January 29, 1942 also in Enumclaw, Washington.
According to the 1910 King County Census (Federal) Elsa (age 35) & Dr. F.G. Ulman (age 39) were the parents of two children - a son, Frederick R age 5 & a daughter, Elinor E age 11 months. It is possible they had more children. (F.G. Ulman's middle initial was incorrectly listed as E on the King County census.)
It is possible Elsa was taken in by a family named Davis? It is possible her brother was Joseph W Davis or his wife Florence was her sister. Both Joseph & his wife were born in Iowa, lived in Nebraska & moved to Enumclaw, WA.
A family named ROCKWELL took in the 2nd daughter(named Marie) of Ludwig & Marie Dee Andres. Marie Rockwell worked as a stenographer & bookkeeper in Portland, Oregon in the early 1920's & prior to that as a high school teacher in Salem, Oregon. I do not know if she ever married. Does anyone know the Rockwell family?
Another connection is: the two brothers, Charlie & Fred both married women from Rock County Minnesota. Charles married Clara Hoefer daughter of Christian & Rosa (Krapf) Hoefer on July 3, 1901 in Beaver Creek, (Rock Co.) Minnesota.
George Frederick (Fred) Andres married Ora Luvan Savage, daughter of Oliver & Eliza (Young) Savage on October 17, 1896 in Rock County Minnesota. Ora was born in Dodge County, Minn. Is it possible both brothers moved to Rock County Minnesota to be close to a sister?
The youngest daughter Winnifred married Reverand J.V. Knoll in Lansing. Does anyone know of Reverand Knoll?
The bio's for Charles & Fred Andres' were writtten in the early 1920's. Charles had one son named Paul A & a daughter Viola E - neither were married at the time of publication.
Fred had a two sons Floyd E. & Charles Frederick. A daughter Marie Lillian passed away at age 7 in 1904. They also adopted a daughter, Ruth Estella Andres. Again, at the time of publication, their children were not married.
If you have any information on who raised the three Andres' sisters after their parents passed away - PLEASE contact Janet Koozer at redduck38@yahoo.com. Janet would like any & all information on the five siblings & their descendents. Janet is also interested in information on Ludwig Andres' second wife
Mary Laaps & their son William Andres. Also, at the time of Ludwig's death - he was listed as living in Village Creek, Iowa. I believe Charles died in 1958 & Fred in 1952 in Orange County California.
Thank you very much....................
