You can find the information you are seeking at Ancestral Graveyard - Orange County Pioneers. I am adding links.
Charles' older brother George Frederick (Fred) also lived & died in Orange County. They are both listed & their bio's are quite interesting.
Marie (not Maria) died one month after giving birth to her fifth child a girl, Winnifred shortly after arriving in America.. Winnifred was born Sept of 1875. Marie & her husband Ludwig arrived in the U.S. April 1875 with their four children. George Frederick (Fred) the oldest was born 1868 & Charles A was born in 1871. The first names of the two girls were Elsie & Marie.
After Marie passed away, Ludwig married Mary Laaps & they had one son, William.
In 1878, Ludwig was killed (read the bio's) & ten year old Fred went to live with his Uncle Gustav Dee until he was 17. Seven year old Charles went to live with his Uncle Theodor Dee until he was 18. The three girls were taken in by separate families & each took their adopted families last names. The youngest, Winnifred married Reverand J.V. Knoll of Lansing.
