It probably would be a good idea to get Leah's death certificate. Yes, I was aware of Phil Thiel--my father said he was more of a father to him than any of the other men his mother lived with when he was young. So now I have leads on several husbands' names--Kamp, Bankstone, Thiel and Andrews (Jay Andrews, "Pa Jay" to me, her husband at the time of her death). There might be others--my father recalled living in Chicago, Los Angeles and Seattle before San Jose, where he attended junior high school and graduated from high school. As for my father's death certificate, the information surely came from my mother almost immediately after his death when she was extremely upset and is therefore somewhat questionable. I saw that census listing from 1920 and will have to check it again--I don't recall it saying that my father was born in Missouri. Many thanks, all.
