What was added in 2018?
November 2, 2018: Added complete transcriptions of the 1917 Farmers Directory for Grant, Lincoln, Massena, Noble, Pleasant, Union and Victoria Townships. All townships have now been transcribed.
Oct. 16, 2018: Added four additional historic photos of the Atlantic Courthouse.
Oct. 15, 2018: Added eleven additional historic photos of Atlantic: a second view of East Side School, an additional view of Atlantic High School, I. O. O. F. Building, Light and Water Plant, Joe and Patch Fire Team, multiview of 4 churches, 3 addditional Atlantic street scenes, and 2 Nishnabotna River scenes.
Oct. 10, 2018: Added Cass Co. Presbyterian Ministers.
Sept. 13, 2018: Created and added an index to the Tributes section from the 1980 Cass County History book. The Tributes section is completely separate from the Family Histories, but many Tributes contain vintage photos and detailed family history. Some families are found in both sections.
Sept. 12, 2018: Added indexes for A, U-V and Y-Z surname Family Histories included in the 1980 Cass County History book. (Indexes for additional letters will coming in the future).
August 29, 2018: Added biography of Hurlbut E. Griswold, Commander of the Iowa Dept. of the Grand Army of the Republic from Jan. 1870-Feb. 1880.
August 28, 2018: Added transcription of the remainder of Chapter V (Ante War and War Periods) from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography. Chapters I-XXI are now all completely transcribed. The Special Index of Person, Towns and Institutions is only partially linked, and the Biographies Section is still only partially transcribed.
August 21, 2018: Added complete transcriptions of Chapter III and Chapter IV (Settlers Prior, County Government) from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.
August 15, 2018: Added complete transcription of the Cass Township (VI) Chapter from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.
August 6, 2018: Added complete transcriptions of the Union Township (X) Chapter, the Pleasant Township (XV) Chapter, and the Massena Township (XVI) Chapter from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.
July 26, 2018: Added complete transcription of the Grant Township (XII) Chapter and remainder of the Franklin Township (XIV) Chapter from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.
July 22, 2018: Added complete transcription of the Benton Township (XI) Chapter from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.
July 12, 2018: Remaining selections from the Grove Township (XXI) Chapter of the 1906 Compendium have been added. The Grove Township (XXI) Chapter has been completely transcribed.
July 7, 2018: Added additional selections from the Grove Township (XXI) Chapter of the 1906 Compendium. Roughly half of the pages in this chapter are now transcribed.
July 6, 2018: Added transcriptions of 5 additional biographies from the 1906 Compendium (Altig, Archer, Haworth, Upson, Vaughn).
June 30, 2018: Added transcription of the biography of Thomas Tice from the 1906 Compendium.
June 18, 2018: Updated the Cass County Genealogical Society page to add the Summer 2018 newsletter.
May 2, 2018: Added list of 18th & Early 19th Century Cass Co. Photographers compiled from various sources.
May 4, 2018: Added complete transcription of the 1917 Farmers Directory for Franklin Township and for Edna Township.
May 1, 2018: Added complete transcription of the 1917 Farmers Directory for Benton Township and for Bear Grove Township.
April 30, 2018: Added complete transcription of the 1917 Farmers Directory for Brighton Township.
April 29, 2018: Added index to the 1900 Ogle Standard Atlas Portrait Department. Included are sixty-five portraits of individuals, couples and/or families.
April 26, 2018: Added The Boys of '61 - '68 and The Fifty-First Iowa Infantry from Cass County In the World War. Also added complete transcription of the 1917 Farmers Directory for Pymosa Township.
April 21, 2018: Added Patrons' Directory from the 1900 Ogle Standard Atlas.
April 19, 2018: Added transcription of the biography of Robert Shearer from the 1906 Compendium.
April 8, 2018: Added vintage photo postcard of Atlantic's West Side School. Also added vintage 1897-98 & 1900-01 Lyman School souvenirs, with teacher and pupil names.
April 2, 2018: The 1913 Industrial Edition is now complete. All remaining articles and photos have been added, and a few blurred images have been replaced with better scans.
March 24, 2018: Reformatted the index for the 1913 Industrial Edition. Numerous additional pages have been added over the past two weeks.
March 23, 2018: Added list of Cass County Century Farms. Iowa Century Farm recognizes and honors families who have owned their farm for 100 years or more.
March 12, 2018: Updated the Cass County Genealogical Society page to add the Spring 2018 newsletter.
March 1, 2018: Added the Atlantic's Dentists section from the 1913 Industrial Edition.
February 22, 2018:Added Massena Post Office Crew and the William Hewitt Family, including multiple photos of daughter Blanche.
February 2, 2018:Added 1865 Census for Cass County (population totals by township; no individual enumeration).
January 30, 2018:Added Miscellaneous Selections and Classified Business Register from the Iowa State Gazetteer by Bailey & Hair (1865). Also added list of Cass County GAR Posts.
January 25, 2018:Added The Underground Railroad in Cass County.
January 24, 2018:Added two Cass County bios/obits from The Annals of Iowa.
