W. C. HARVEY was born in Muscatine County in 1850. He with his brother J. L. Harvey moved to Marne in 1878 and they established the firm of Harvey Brothers the same year. He succeeded his brother as postmaster of Marne, served as Township Clerk and was a long time merchant in Marne. For many years W. C. Harvey was associated with the Marne Savings Bank and was cashier of the bank until retiring. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey had three children, Blanche, Clyde and Rilla. Mrs. Harvey passed away in 1912 and he died at Marne in 1929.
