Minnie Elizabeth Nelson Larson
27 March 1877 ---- 3 July 1942

Mrs. Lewis Larson died at her home on East First Street South on Friday morning about 11 o'clock after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Larson is survived by her husband, two sons and four daughters, Martin and Arthur Larson, Mrs. Miller Amonson, Mrs. Gordon Christopher, Mrs. Lawrence Runner, and Miss Doris Larson.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church, with the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Minnie Elizabeth Nelson was born March 24, 1877 at Borgholm, Sweden to Bertha and August Nelson. At the age of seven she came with her mother and two brothers to Peru, Ill., where she lived until the spring of 1892. Her father passed away while living there. She came with her mother and brothers to Iowa, settling near Clarion, where she made her home until her marriage to Lewis Larson on March 31, 1896. To this union nine children were born. One infant, one boy, Howard, at the age of 6 1/2 years and Mrs. V. E. Sellers passed on before.

She was baptized in the Christian faith while in Sweden and joined the Methodist church in Eagle Grove in 1916.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis, two sons, Martin L. and Arthur, four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Christopher, Mrs. Ellen Amonson, Mrs. Irene Runner, Doris Larson, and four grandchildren, Jeanne Sellers, Elaine Amonson, Edna Jane and Mary Larson. Also, four brothers, William Nelson, Lone Rock; John Nelson, Winnebago, Minn.; Harvey Nelson, Britt; and Axel Nelson, Britt.
