Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Greenley, 77, of West Palm Beach, Fla., a former Eagle Grove resident, were held Wednesday afternoon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Revs. H. W. Schiller and Kenneth R. Torvik officiated. Burial was in the Hobbet family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Greenley, the former Bertha Ersland Hobbet of Eagle Grove, died Saturday at West Palm Beach.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jack Hargraves of West Palm Beach, Fla., and one son, Richard Hobbet of Durham, N.C; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Anton Rasmussen of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Lawrence Mandsager of Hardy.

OBITUARY

Bertha Serina Ersland Hobbet Greenley, 77, died March 16 at West Palm Beach, Fla. Funeral services were held at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church Wednesday, March 20, at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Bertha was born to Henry and Carrie Severson Ersland at Hardy, Ia. on Feb. 12, 1897. She was baptized and confirmed in her christian faith at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hardy. She attended local schools and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. After teaching schools in Eagle Grove and Randall, she returned to Eagle Grove to work in a bank.

In December, 1922, she married Oscar Hobbet of Eagle Grove, who died September 12, 1936. Two children survive, Janet, Mrs. Jack Hargrave of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Richard Hobbet, professor of Law at Duke University, Durham, N.C.

In July, 1952, Bertha married Charles Greenley at Des Moines. He died on October 25, 1971. She has since made her home in Florida.

She is survived by her children and seven grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs. Anton Rasmussen of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Lawrence Mandsager of Hardy.
