Goldfield Chronicle

Andrew Rasmussen, age 69, died Thursday afternoon, May 11, at the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital at Cherokee. Death followed a weeks illness.

The funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, May 13, at 2:00 p.m. from the Kastler-Babcock funeral home Pastor Kay Mills of the United Presbyterian Church of Goldfield officiated. Burial was at the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

Obituary:

Andrew Rasmussen, son of Tina Hansen Rasmussen and Frederick Christian Rasmussen, was born Feb. 7, 1898 and passed away May 11, 1967 at the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

Mr. Rasmussen was born, reared and educated in the vicinity of Goldfield. He worked on farms near Goldfield, at the Seed Corn Plant at Clarion, and at Wilson Produce in Eagle Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and one brother. Mr. Rasmussen had never married.

He is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Jeanette Nervig and Harry Rasmussen of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Lillie Gosnell of Springfield, Mo., Pete Rasmussen living at the Heritage Home in Mason City; and a niece Mrs. Ruth Driessen of Eagle Grove who was raised in the Rasmussen home.
