Florence Miller Carpenter
27 October 1903 ---- 22 October 1949

Mrs. Florence Carpenter, 45, died Saturday, Oct. 22 in a Fort Dodge hospital where she had been a medical patient for a short time. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Kastler Funeral Home, and Rev. Merton L. Scott, pastor of the Baptist church, was in charge. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Florence Miller Carpenter was the daughter of John and Margaret Miller, and was born in Eagle Grove, Oct. 27, 1903. She lived in Eagle Grove from birth until 10 years of age and attended grade school here. She then moved with her parents to Grantsburg, Wis. She returned to Eagle Grove in 1921 where she continued to make her home for the remainder of her life.

She was united in marriage to Walter Carpenter on Nov. 22, 1922, and to his union three children were born, Russell, Mildred, and Marvin. She united with the Baptist church on April 13, 1941 in Eagle Grove and was a member of the Philathea class. There are left to mourn her death, the three children Russell, Mrs. Glen Kiley and Marvin, her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Miller Sr., one brother John Miller Jr., one sister Mrs. Archie Willard, a grandson Terry Lee Kiley, and friend Edward Johnson of Eagle Grove.

Those present from out of town at the services were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Midland of Ottumwa, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Finkle of Marshalltown, and Mr. and Mrs. John Harrigan of Fort Dodge.
