Albert G Jergensen
8 September 1888 --- 23 March 1948

Albert G. Jergensen, son of Gudmun and Bertha Jergensen, was born on September 8, 1888 at Ellsworth, Iowa and passed away at his home near Bricelyn, Minn., March 23, 1948 at the age of 59 years, 6 months, and 15 days. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Bertha Jergensen, a sister Belinda, a half-sister, Jennie, a half-brother, Clarence, his father, Gudmun.

He was raised from childhood by the loving care of his stepmother, Mrs. Julia Jergensen. He was baptized into the Christian faith as an infant and confirmed into the Lutheran church at Holmes, Iowa. In 1946 he transferred his membership to Bricelyn Lutheran church.

In his youth he attended country school and later on was a commercial student at Jewell Lutheran college.

On the 8th of March 1911 [in Fort Dodge, Webster, Iowa] he was united in marriage to Jennie Louise Larson. To this union seven children were born: five daughters, Gertrude, Helen, Bette, Virginia, and Phyllis; two sons, Norman and Harley. He spent his life farming in Wright County and the past five years near Bricelyn, Minnesota.

Although Mr. Jergensen had not been in the best of health, he was able to carry on with his usual work, so his sudden death on March 23 came as a distinct shock to his family and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, five daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Cameron, Osage, Ia.; Mrs. Helen Coltvet, Eagle Grove, Ia.; Mrs. Bette Anderson, Renwick, Ia.; Mrs. Virginia Meyers, Osage, Ia.; Mrs. Phyllis Erdal, Thief River Falls, Minn.; two sons, Norman and Harley, at home and 13 grandchildren, his step-mother, Mrs. Julia Jergensen, his oldest sister, Mrs. Julia Amosson of Eagle Grove, Ia.; and six half-sisters, Mrs. Jennie Larson, Vincent, Ia.; Mrs. Stella Martin, Goldfield, Ia.; Mrs. Clarice Crum, Des Moines, Ia.: Mrs. Bernice Nerem, Renwick, Ia.; Miss Violet Jergensen, Eagle Grove, Ia.; Mrs. Rosetta Middleton, Eagle Grove, Ia.; and six half-brothers, Ben of Spirit Lake, Ia.; Jess of Luverne, Ia.; Grant and James of Kanawha and Clarence and Leonard of Clarion, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning March 27 at 10:30 in the Bricelyn (Minn.) Lutheran church, and final rites were held in the Wilson Chapel, Eagle Grove at 3 o'clock. Rev. E. Jergenson of Bricelyn was in charge. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Koltvet.

Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.
