Everett Blackman dies Feb. 14
Everett Dwight Blackman, 67, died Thursday at his home following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Wilson Funeral Home. Rev. Arthur W. Anderson was in charge and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Blackman is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jack Irelan of Rockford, Ill. and Mrs. Joost Koenig of Orange, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Almeda, Blackman; three brothers: Russell, Bernard and Warren all of Eagle Grove; and one sister, Miss Evelyn Blackman of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Mr. Blackman returned to Eagle Grove to make his home about five years ago after working for 33 years as an electronic engineer for station W.G.N., Chicago Tribune Radio Station.

OBITUARY

Everett Dwight Blackman, son of Warren O. and Almeda Wood Blackman, was born April 2, 1906 in Eagle Grove. He attended the Eagle Grove public schools and later attended the Packman Radio and Telegraph College in Valparaiso, Ind. In 1928 he was married to Irene Wormwood and to this union two daughters were born. The family lived many years in Elgin, Ill., later moving to Carpentersville and Bartlett, Ill. Everett was
an electronics engineer for 33 years with the W.G.N. Chicago Tribune Radio Station. He was a member of the Electrical Engineers and Electrical Workers Union, Chicago, Ill., and a member of the Baptist Church in Elgin, Ill. and later transferred to the Eagle Grove Baptist Church.

Everett moved back to Eagle Grove in 1968 to make his home and the past few months had been in failing health. He died early Thursday morning, February 14, at his home and was 67 years, 10 months and 12 days of age at the time of his passing. His death was unexpected.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jerold; his father, in 1946; and one granddaughter, Heidi, in 1951. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Almeda Blackman of Eagle Grove; two daughters, (Patricia) Mrs. Jack Irelan of Rockford, Ill. and (Joan) Mrs. Joost Koenig of Orange, Calif.; seven grandchildren; three brothers: Russell, Bernard and Warren of Eagle Grove; and one sister, Miss Evelyn Blackman of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 16, 2:30 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur W. Anderson officiating. Interment was held in Rose Hill Cemetery.
