Anna S. Olson Stockdale
17 June 1876 ---- 28 September 1977Anna S. Olson was born June 17, 1876, at Oslo, Norway. She began her education in Norway and came to the United States at age 10 with her parents to the Stratford area where she finished her education.
In the mid 1890's [1895] she was married to Samuel Stockdale of Stratford. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1908. Mr. Stockdale died in 1953. Anna had been a resident at the Humboldt Care Center North for two years.
She died Wednesday, September 28, at the Humboldt Care Center North, at the age of 101 years, 3 months, and 11 days.
Survivors include a daughter, Selma (Mrs. Ralph) Edwards, Rochester, Minn.; a brother, Ole Olson, Garden City; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Samuel; three sons, Burdette, Lawrence, and William; two daughters: Clara Larick and Lydia Sill, and one granddaughter.
She was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 30 at 10 a.m. at Kastler - Babcock - DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Orville Sanderson of the Samuel Lutheran Church officiated, and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
