Last Rites For Samuel Stockdale
Samuel M. Stockdale died late Wednesday night, June 24th at his home in the Dillard Building. Mr. Stockdale, 79, had been in failing health for some time. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Larick of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Ralph Edwards of Rochester, Minn., three sons, William of Webster City, Lawrence of this city, and Burdette of Waterloo. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Clyde Dalbey of Ellsworth, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Wilson Chapel, in charge of Rev. B. F. Molstre. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

OBITUARY
Samuel M., son of Severt and Ingebor Stockdale was born in Stavanger, Norway on February 14, 1874 and passed away at his home in Eagle Grove on June 24 at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 10 days. At an early age he came to Iowa with his parents from Norway. As a boy he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

In 1895 on June 21st he was united in marriage to Anna Olson at Webster City, Iowa. To this union six children were born, three daughters and three sons. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and a daughter, Mrs. O. S. Sill. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two daughters , Mrs. Wm. Larick of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Ralph Edwards of Rochester, Minn., three sons, William J. of Webster City, Lawrence of Eagle Grove and Burdette of Waterloo, one sister, Mrs. Clyde Dalbey of Ellsworth, Iowa. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 27, 1953 at the Wilson Funeral Chapel, Eagle Grove, Iowa with Rev. B. F. Molstre, officiating. Interment was held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
