Fred A. Larson, 81, retired carpenter, died Wednesday evening in a Mason City hospital. He had lived in this community 40 years and made his home at 623 S. Jersey.

Mr. Larson was born Aug. 8, 1884, at Goldfield, son of Morten and Christena (Christensen) Larson. He was married to Matilda C. Hansen, Aug. 29, 1906, at Goldfield.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Kermit A. and Richard A., both of Mason City; Ronald D., Minneapolis, and Beresford E., Torrance, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. M. E. (Alma) Sullivan, Des Moines, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Four brothers, Guy, Tucson, Ariz.; Harry, Goldfield; Howard, Grants Pass, Ore., and Edward, Puyallup, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Blair (Violet) Jackett, Casper, Wyo., also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Mr. Larson was a member of the First Christian Church.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p. m. Saturday at the Patterson-James Chapel. The Rev. Harold A. Dowler, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Mrs. Wallace Allen will be the organist. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. Visitation at the chapel will be from 3 p. m. Friday until the time of services.

Funeral services for August Larson, 81, of Mason City were held in Mason city on Saturday with burial in the Goldfield Cemetery.

Mr. Larson was a former resident of Goldfield, being born in Evergreen township.

Lunch was served after the services for the relatives in the home of Mrs. Edna Larson.
