Walter Heslop
3 April 1879 ---- 19 July 1944

Walter Heslop, 65, died about 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon while sitting on one of the seats in Central Park. He collapsed without warning and died instantly. About six years ago he retired from his work as boilermaker for the North Western and was placed on the pension list.

He is survived by his wife and five children, Wilbur in the Navy, located at Farragut, Idaho; Ed of Eagle Grove; Harry, who is in the Coast Guard at Panama City, Fla.; Walter and Marie at home. Funeral arrangements had not been made at the time of going to press.

Walter Heslop, son of Martin and Sarah Heslop was born in Cabery, Ford county, Illinois, April 13, 1879. He died at Eagle Grove, Iowa, July 19, 1944. In 1903 he was united in marriage with Mary Burnstein. To this union three sons were born, Wilbur, Harry, and Edward. In 1927, Mrs. Heslop passed away. On October 4, 1927 he was united in marriage to Floross Grandgeorge. To this union two children were born, Walter and Marie Lou. His widow and five children survive. They are Wilbur in the U. S. Navy, Harry in the Coast Guard, Edward at Eagle Grove, Walter, and Marie Lou at home. Also surviving are three brothers, Arthur in California, LeRoy in Seattle, Wash., and Fred, somewhere in Canada, and two sisters, Mrs. A. A. Sadler of Eagle Grove, and Grace of Cleveland, Ohio. The funeral services were held Monday, July 24th at the Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
