Charles "Cobb" George Loux was born on July 16, 1916, the son of George and Lena Claude Loux at Woolstock. He received his education in the Woolstock school system and graduated from Woolstock High School in 1937. Following his graduation, he worked as a bookkeeper for the Woolstock Elevator.

He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 19, 1942 at Des Moines. After his service to his country during World War II, he received his honorable discharge on October 3, 1945. He returned to Woolstock following the war and continued working for the Woolstock Elevator.

He was united in marriage to Carmen Peer of Renwick on September 3, 1950. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where he began his employment with Boone Valley Co-op in the late 1940s. He was the plant superintendent when he retired in 1982.

Charles George Loux died June 9, 1993, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City following a short illness. He was 76 years, 10 months, and 23 days of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Emil and Donald. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Dr. James Loux of Clear Lake, and Steve Loux of Thor; a daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Janet) Sneiderman of Sheldon; six grandchildren; and his sister, Helen Loux of Webster City.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 12 at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Scott C. Hall officiated the 2 p.m. services and burial was at Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
