Ella Lucile Ellefson Broeffle
24 April 1891 ---- 17 October 1916

The Angel of Death entered our little town last week and took to her home, Mrs. Ella Broeffle. Ella had been a sufferer for several months with diabetes, but would not give up until she had utterly given out. She was downtown Saturday night, having returned from Fort Dodge that day. Death came to her at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

Ella Ellison Broeffle was born on April 24, 1892. Her parents died when she was young and she made her home with Mrs. McKinney of Estherville. Later she became a teacher in our public schools. She was married to Wm. Broeffle May 3, 1913. Left to mourn her loss her husband; one brother, Arnold Ellison of Montana; three sisters: one at Dows, Amanda at Kanawha and Bessie of Emmetsburg.

Funeral services were held here in the church Thursday and interment in the Fairview Cemetery at Dows.
