Funeral services for Mrs. C. H. Hall who died last Wednesday night were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Helen Elizabeth LaPoint was born in Williamsburg, Ont., Can., March 8, 1862, the second child of Joel and Rachel LaPoint. At an early age she came with her parents to Minnesota and settled on a homestead in Pilot Grove township, west of Elmore, where she grew to womanhood, later moving to Elmore.

On November 10, 1886, she was united in holy wedlock to Charles H. Hall, and they later moved to Tama, Iowa.

In April 1894, they came to Eagle Grove, where she made her home for almost 49 years.

Her hospitality, cheerful disposition and self-sacrificing nature won admiration of her relatives and friends. Mrs. Hall was a member of the M. E. church and Order of Eastern Star. She was a great home body, a devoted wife and was strongly attached to her children and grandchildren.

The deceased has been in failing health for some time and grew gradually weaker and passed peacefully away on Wednesday, March 31, at 10:10 p.m., surrounded by relatives and friends.

She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, three children, Frank of Eagle Grove, Earl of Junction City, Kan., and Mrs. Rachel Thompson of Des Moines; one sister, Mrs. Sara Cuppernoll of Elmore, Minn.; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Services were held April 3, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church, Rev. J. R. Tumbleson officiating. Mrs. Bruce Middleton and Mark Tumbleson sang "They are Going Down the Valley One by One" and "Beautiful Isle, of Somewhere." Mrs. George DeForest was at the organ. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Attending the funeral from out of town were: Mrs. Russell Buck and son of Chicago; Mrs. Sybel Helm McCarten, Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson and son; F. A. Thompson, Mrs. Grace Fogel, W. J. Robinson, Mrs. Walter Ferrell and daughter Maxine of Des Moines, Mrs. A. E. Anderson, Miss Helen Springer of Ft. Dodge, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Middleton of Waterloo.
