Emma Karine Knudson
7 April 1876 --- 29 November 1942

Miss Emma Knudson died at the Convalescent home in Eagle Grove Sunday morning. She had been a patient at the home for the past four weeks.

Services were held at the West Side Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. G. O. Paulsrud of Randall in charge and interment was on the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Emma Karine Knudson, daughter of Lars L. and Annie Knudson, was born in Humboldt county on April 7th, 1876 and passed away at the Convalescent Home, where she had been cared for some 4 weeks, on Sunday morning, Nov 29th at the age of 60 years, 7 months, and 22 days.

Emma was one of seven children and besides her father and mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Leva, and two brothers, Lars and Linsworth. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nellie Westvold, of Wichita, Kansas, and two brothers, John of Eagle Grove and Allen O. of Webster City, besides a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Miss Knudson received her education in the Humboldt county and Eagle Grove public schools and lived her entire life in these communities, coming to Eagle Grove in 1915.

She was confirmed by Rev. C. J. Eastvold in the Norway church west of Eagle Grove and joined that congregation, and upon moving to Eagle Grove she affiliated with the West Side Lutheran church, remaining a member until her death.

Emma was of a quiet and unassuming disposition, a great lover of the home and her church, and will be greatly missed by those who survive her.
