Viola Ione Bridges
4 January 1919 ---- 29 December 1935

Rowan girl, 17, dies in hospital in Iowa City

Viola, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bridges living southeast of Rowan, passed away Sunday evening at the hospital in Iowa City. She would have been 17 years old January 4, 1936. She entered the hospital in October for a thyroid operation, but due to a severe case of tonsillitis which she contacted while there, the operation was indefinitely postponed.

Viola was a member of the sophomore class at Rowan High School. She leaves to mourn her passing her parents, three brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Presbyterian church in Dows. [Fairview Cemetery]
