Charlotte Bailey Dies; Services Held Saturday

Mrs. Charlotte J. Bailey, 84, a lifelong Dows resident, died on Thursday morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City where she had been a patient since earlier in the week. For the past year and a half she had made her home at Golden Acres Manor in Dows.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey were held on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the First Presbyterian Church in Dows with Pastor Judith Cook officiating. Burial was in Fairvicw Cemetery and the Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

She was born at Dows on March 8, 1892 and was the daughter of Julius W. and Harriet Peterson Dielman. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. On May 5, 1920 she was married to G. A. (Al) Bailey at Dows and they operated the Bailey General Merchandise Store for many years. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Dorcas Circle. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Order of Eastern Star and the Pythian Sisters.

Surviving is one son, Rex of Mason City and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother.
