Malinda Hockel Anderson
14 February 1876 ---- 12 December 1941

Mrs. Malinda Anderson died Friday evening at the Convalescent home where she had been for care for a few days. Mrs. Anderson had been ill in her own home for some time prior. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the East Side Lutheran church, in charge of Rev. T. J. Severtson.

Malinda Hockel was born February 14, 1876 at Skjold, Norway and died at Eagle Grove, Iowa, December 12, 1941, age 65 years, 9 months, and 28 days. She was baptized unto Christ Jesus April 2, 1876, received instruction, and confessed her Christian faith in her youth. In 1885 she came to America and on October 2, 1920 she was united in marriage to Albert Anderson and lived at Eagle Grove. Mr. Anderson died February 28, 1927.

She is now survived by six brothers and two sisters, viz: Jacob Hockel, Moscow, Idaho; Maurice Hockel, Rhame, N. Dak.; Andrew Hockel, Odin, Minn.; Sam Hockel, Odin, Minn.; Ben Hockel, Hardy; Henry Hockel, Pasadena, Calif.; Hannah and Rachel Hockel, both of Pasadena, Calif. She is also survived by twenty-three nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Anderson was a patient soul, kind by nature, and helpful. She was a daily reader of God's Word, and a faithful worshipper at the church service as long as she was able. She loved her church and her Savior, and always gladly supported the church by her means. She has suffered quite long from sickness and longed for release.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 15 from the Eagle Grove Lutheran church and burial was made in the family lot near the Trinity church near Hardy, Iowa.
