Sharon J. Mecklem died March 18, 2021. She was born June 8, 1935 in Eagle Grove, IA and moved around the Midwest before making Santa Fe her home in 1967. Graduate of Junction City HS (1951), Manhattan Bible College, Manhattan, KS (1956), and earned a Master's in Education from Highlands University, New Mexico (1975). She loved teaching and her students always remembered how she helped them succeed.

Throughout her life, Sharon was a leader in various community organizations, most significantly the Girl Scouts of America, serving 67 years in leader- ship and council positions. She enjoyed playing social Bridge with good friends for over 40 years.

Sharon was a faithful Christian and made her spiritual home at United Church of Santa Fe. Sharon was married for 18 years to Rev. Willis Clark, Jr. serving as a pastor's wife and mother to their four children. In 1979, she married Norman J. Mecklem who for 21 years, was a great husband, stepfather, and grandfather until his death in 2000.

Sharon is survived by her children Lydia Clark, Cathy Clark (Richard Lacey), Mark Clark (Genevieve Leitner), Carole Clark (Riede Wyatt); grandchildren Candace, Hilario Paul (Catherine), Jess (Alena), Sierra (Travis); great-grandchildren Phillip (Stephanie), Larissa, Santana, James, and Micah; and great-great-grandchildren Kaylin and Haley; sister Nancy (Dale) Oldham. She was preceded in death by her sisters Judy and Sandra, and brother Rodger, and parents Russell and Opal Good. Beloved and admired, she will be greatly missed.

A private family-only service to give thanks for Sharon's life will be held this week. Once it is safe to do so, a memorial service for the wider community of friends will be held at the United Church of Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts in memory of their mother and grandmother be made to the United Church of Santa Fe 1804 Arroyo Chamiso, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
