McKinley William Farmer, 5480 Vermont street SW, a Cedar Rapids resident 47 years, died Monday night following a brief illness.

Born Aug. 25, 1896, at Humboldt, he was married to Arva Smith in April of 1917 in Cedar Rapids. He was with Concrete Materials Company 24 years and with Builders Material 11 years before retiring.

Surviving are four daughters, Wanda Bernacki of Milwaukee, Doris Hite and Patricia Wilson, both of Cedar Rapids, and Martha Herren of Whittier; two sons Richard, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and William McKinley Farmer, Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Esther Oviatt of Goldfield and Lucy Madison of Rowan, and one brother, Fred Farmer, of Santa Fe Springs, Calif.

Mr. Farmer was a member of Asbury Methodist church.

Memorial services: Turner chapel at 10:30 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. John K. Moore. Burial: Cedar Memorial cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until 10 a.m. Thursday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
