Obituary
(By Rev. T. J. Severtson)

Myron Lester Johnson passed away at St. Mary's hospital, Rochester, Minn., Saturday, March 23, 1935, after an illness of three weeks. He was born October 22, 1895, on a farm in Hamilton county, in Fremont township, in Iowa, and died at the age of 39 years, 5 months, and 1 day. He was the son of Frank and Martha Johnson. Myron was baptized into Christ Jesus in infancy, received instruction, and confessed his Christian faith in his youth in the Lutheran church. He remained a faithful adherent to this confession to the last.

On March 3, 1926, he was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Helgevold of Eagle Grove, and they lived on a farm near Eagle Grove since. To this union two children were born, Phyllis June and Charlotte Marlene.

He now leaves to mourn his early death his wife and two little daughters, his father, Frank Johnson of Webster City, his mother having passed away in 1917. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Albert Voss of Woolstock, and four brothers, Ed of Duncombe, George of Woolstock, Arthur and Raymond of Webster City, together with a large number of near and distant relatives and many friends.

Myron was a kind father and a loving husband, a faithful friend, and a good neighbor. He will be keenly missed both in his home and the community. He left worthy example for any young man.

“In thy wisdom whose ways are past understanding, Thou hast appointed our dear ones to tears. Thou hast called them into sorrows Gethsemane where great loneliness and anguish wring their hearts. Grant, they meet Jesus there. Father draw them close to thyself and comfort them. There is no comfort but in Thee.”

Funeral services were held from the H. W. Helgevold home Wednesday afternoon, March 27th at 1 and from Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church, of which Myron was a member at 2 o'clock. Burial was made in the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery.
