OBITUARY,
Death came to Mrs. Geo. B. Blaess on Wednesday last after an illness of six months. The deceased was born May 29, 1840, in Center county, Pennsylvania, and came to Winneshiek county in 1854. She was married in 1861 in Decorah to Henry Schwalm, who was killed in the Civil War. In 1865 she was united in marriage to David Dinger, who died in 1871. In 1873 she became the wife of Geo. B. Blaess. One daughter by her first marriage, three children by her second marriage and three by her third marriage survive her. They are Mrs. Ida Matthews of Elgin, Wm. Dinger of Elma, Samuel Dinger of Cresco, Mrs. H. F. Dempewolf of Howard, S. D., John Blaess of Decorah, M. M. Blaess of Mildred, Minn., and Charles Blaess residing near Decorah. The funeral was held Sunday last. Prayer was delivered at the house and the remains were taken to the Evangelical church at Locust where Rev. Day of Cresco officiated and interment was made.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Mary Ann who died Apr. 15, 1914. She is buried in Locust Lane Salem Cemetery.
