MRS. LOREN J. MILLER DEAD.
Stricken While Attending Church Last Sunday and Dies About Two Hours Later.
Word came to Decorah friends Monday last of the death of Mrs. Loren J. Miller, Sunday evening shortly after 10:30 o’clock, at the family home at 123 Standart Street, Syracuse, N. Y. The particulars of her death as given by the Syracuse Herold of Monday indicates that the summons was sudden.
Early in the evening she went to the New York Central station with her daughter Florence, who was returning to studies at Cornell. Later, in company with her cousin, Miss Jennie Dayton, who is a guest at the Miller home, she attended the First Methodist church. Shortly after arriving at the church she became ill and collapsed before she had walked ten feet on her way out of the building. She was taken home in a cab and a physician was called, but she soon became unconscious and remained so to the end. Apoplexy was the cause of death.
Beside her husband Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughters Florence and Ella, her sons Floyd and Cranston, two sisters, Mrs. D. D. Parish of Lyons Falls, N. Y., and Mrs. E. P. Fife of Syracuse, and one brother, W. H. Robinson of Greenwich, N. Y. The funeral was held yesterday.
It was somewhat more than a year ago that the Millers left Decorah to make their home in Syracuse. During her life here Mrs. Miller was an active member of the Methodist church and made many friends who join in extending sympathy to her family in their bereavement.
