AT REST.
MRS. M. I. TOYEN.
On Friday last after an illness of several years from heart disease, complicated at last by pneumonia, Mrs. Martin I. Toyen passed away at the family home on East Broadway. Mrs. Toyen’s maiden name was Oline Lovstuen. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lovstuen of Glenwood township, where she was born on April 14, 1864. She was married to Martin I. Toyen on January 3, 1888, and continued to reside in Glenwood until a few years ago when they came to Decorah to make their home. One son was born to them—Henry C, Toyen of Mediapolis, Iowa,--who reached home only a few hours before his mother passed away. Beside her husband and son she is survived by two sisters and three brothers—Mrs. Emil Renaas of Madison, S. D., Mrs. O. T. Brandhagen of Canton, S. D., Hans who lives on the home farm, Niels of Decorah, and Lewis of Swift Current, Canada. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the United Lutheran church at 1:30 p. m., Rev. O. E. Schmidt officiating, preceded by prayer at the house.
In their bereavement the relatives of the deceased have the sympathy of many friendsTranscriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she is buried in Lutheran Decorah Cemetery. Her gravestone shows she was born April 4, 1864 which does not agree with the above.
