THE SILENT REAPER.
The community was shocked last Friday to learn that T. O. Storla, one of the best known farmers of Decorah township, had died the day previous (the 1st inst.), at his home in the south part of the township, after an illness of only a week’s duration. Mr. Storla had been a man of robust physique and always the picture of good health. Few knew that he was ailing and that death should come to him in manhood’s prime is a great bereavement to his family and friends.
Mr. Storla was born in 1859 at Paint Creek, Allamakee county, and he leaves a wife and several children. The funeral was held Monday. A prayer service was conducted at the home at ten o’clock and the public service was held at the Washington Prairie church at one o’clock. The services were largely attended by friends and acquaintances who honored the deceased as a man of integrity and uprightness of character.Source: Decorah Republican Feb. 8, 1912 P7 C4
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Ness attended his uncle, T O. Storla’s, funeral near Decorah Monday.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1860, which does not agree with the above, and is buried in Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
