Died While Enroute Home.
On Friday last the remains of Miss Augusta Elmyra Thune were brought to Decorah for burial. The facts attending Miss Thune’s death are sad. For a number of years she has resided at Butte, Mont. Some time ago her health began to fail but it was only during the last few weeks that she became dangerously ill. Hoping to get home to her relatives she started from Butte. When the train was nearing Glasgow, Mont., on the morning of January 30, the porter of the sleeping car went to call her and found her dead. The cause of death was heart disease. Relatives here were notified and at their instruction the body was sent on for interment. On their arrival here they were taken to the home of Miss Anna M Thune, a sister, and on Sunday afternoon they were conveyed to the family lot in the cemetery on Washington Prairie for burial. The funeral service was conducted by Rev W. M. Lemen.
Miss Thune was born May 31, 1867 in Glenwood township, where her childhood and young girlhood were spent. After securing a common school education she attended the schools in Decorah, also in St, Paul. In 1893 she went to Butte, where she has continued to reside most of the intervening time. In their bereavement the relatives have the sympathy of many friends.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her date of birth as June, 1872 which does not agree with the above. She is buried in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery.
