Obit look up needed for JOHN P. DONAHOO

Looking for an obit for John P. Donahoo who died at Blakesburg September 13, 1901 with burial at Jay Cemetery. WPA records have death date as May 13, 1901 aged 78. I don't think May is the right month as a walk through said his stone says he died Sept. 13, 1901 aged 78y 6mo 12da.[inscription on stone]
I think the WPA record is all wrong. Thanks for any help I may be given from a volunteer who I would like to do the look up for me.
