There are actually two cemeteries in Eddyville. One is Highland Cemetery, which is on the north edge of Eddyville in Mahaska County. The other is a Catholic cemetery that is much smaller and is in Eddyville proper.

The town of Eddyville is actually in both Mahaska and Wapello counties. To make things more confusing, less than 200 yards outside the city limits to the east in Monroe county. Whenever doing research in Eddyville you must always check all three counties.
