Since my first posting, I have learned that John Wesley Henry, son of John G Henry and Sarah J Ward, was married to Katharine Susan Rose, daughter of Philip Rose and Elizabeth Class, on 26 Apr 1888 in Freemont, Johnson, Iowa. The marriage record for John and "Kate" shows that Katharine Susan Rose was the widow of Joseph P Mentis.

I have also learned that John W Henry used the alias John H. Gipe during the Civil War.

I am still looking for John W. Henry's first wife's given name. Her maiden name was Prudy. They would have been married about 1871.
