The following is the text of the obituary for Ed Bayne taken from the Ottumwa Courier dated 19 Jun 1934.

"Ed Bayne, 82 years old, of Eldon died at University hospital at Iowa City this morning at 6 o'clock following an operation. He is survived by four sons, J.H. Bayne of Ottumwa, Earl of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Ralph of Reno, Nev., and Carl of San Francisco, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie DeVore of Eldon, Mrs. Robina Grace of Des Moines, and Mrs. Madge Nicholson of Jamaica, Iowa; and one brother, John, of Salem, Ore. The body has been brought here to the Johnson Funeral Chapel. Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at the cemetery in Eldon."
