Edward BAYNE and John BAYNE

BAYNE NICHOLSON, LEWIS, WISNER

I would like to know if the John Bayne buried in Abingdon Cemetery is the father of Edward Bayne buried in Eldon Cemetery. Both are said to have come from Muthill, Perthshire, Scotland (Edward, at least, emmigrated 1870/71). Some of this seems to come from Familysearch which I have found rather inaccurate at times. I have posted this to Jefferson Co also. Thanks for any help. RC

From Rootsweb posting and reply:

I am trying to establish a relationship between John Bayne (b. 1826, d. 1888) (wife, Robinia Bayne (b. 1829), with my great grandfather, Edward (Edwin?) Bayne who died (1934) (b. 1852 in Scotland) in Eldon, Wapello County, IA (Wife: Hessie Lewis, d. 1904).Family (John Bayne) emmigrated from Scotland (with many children): 1870/1871. Have them in the 1880 census in Iowa, Jefferson County, Polk Township. His son(?), Edward Bayne, (if there is a connection) was married in Jefferson County in 1875. He is not in the 1880 census for that area.Would really appreciate someone who can establish some connection here for me.Are there any Bayne's out there looking for their roots in Iowa???Thanks if you can help,RC Nicholson
