Donald M. O'Day

Donald M. O'Day, 65, Farmington, died at 1:55 a.m. Monday, March 12, 1990, in Keokuk area Hospital.

He was born in Kahoka, Mo. September 28, 1924 to Andrew Henry O'Day and Diamond Theresa Gutting. He married Thelma Florence Edlen September 6, 1942.

He was a member of the Revere Community Church and the Hiram Lodge 362. He served on the Revere C-3 school board for 18 years and the ASCS office for 15 years. He was a farmer in Clark County, Mo. for many years and had lived in Farmington for the past three years.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter Mrs. Dale (Karen) Schlicher, Farmington; two sons, Paul W. O'Day of Kahoka and Ross L. O'Day of Farmington; one brother, Andrew O'Day, Jr. of Wayland, Mo.; two sisters, Della (Rae) Arnold of Luray, Mo. and Mary Mertz of Tampa, Florida; seven grandchildren, Stacy and Corey Schlicher, Michael and Amy O'Day, Clint and Kaci O'Day, and Kristi O'Day Alderton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wilbert (Bill) O'Day and Joseph O'Day.

Services were held Thursday, March 15, 1990, at Shaffer and Sons Memorial Chapel in Kahoka with Rev. Fred Malone and Rev. Mike Shea officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials to the Farmington Ball Association and Farmington EMT Unit.
