KEOSAUQUA - Hannah Elaine Cole, 4, rural Keosauqua, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 1989, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She suffered a fractured leg while playing in Keosauqua July 4th and was taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, where she suffered cardiac arrest at the start of surgery. She was airlifted to Iowa City.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bonaparte Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where memorials may be left.
Hannah was born Oct. 2, 1984, in Keosauqua, the daughter of Rickie and Jane Thornburg Cole, and lived her life on Route 2 north of Bentonsport. She attended Bonaparte Baptist Church and Sunday School, Happy Day Express Christian Preschool in Keosauqua and was a member of Bonaparte Baptist Awana Club.
surviving are her parents; a sister, Alyssa, a brother, Adam, both at home; grandparents, Jimmy and Elaine Cole of Bentonsport, Harold and Dorothy Thornburg of Farmington and great-grandmother, Fay Hackard of Bentonspot.
