Della Bailey rite Wednesday

Della M. Bailey, 80, 104 South C St., died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, March 5, 1989, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery east of Birmingham. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Jefferson County Hospice.

Mrs. Bailey was born Nov. 22, 1908, in Center Township, Jefferson County, the daughter of Noah and Mary Hosette Erickson. She taught in the Jefferson County rural school system. She married George Truman Bailey Oct. 26, 1944, at First Christian Church, Fairfield. He died May 31, 1971. They lived in Fairfield for 1 1/2 years before moving to a farm six miles southeast of town, where they lived for 24 years. She later moved back to Fairfield. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with Keep Young Club.

Surviving are two brothers, Reuben Erickson of Sturgeon, Mo., Clarence Erickson of Oregon; six nieces and nephews; grand nieces and grandnephews and cousins. A sister preceded her in death.
