BATAVIA - Edith P. Leazer, 90, formerly of rural Batavia, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 1989, at Parkview care Center in Fairfield.
She was born April 18, 1899, in Bonaparte, to Dudley Tullis and Lula Edith Courtright Barnes. She married Own Guy Leazer Oct. 13, 1917, in Keosauqua. He died in 1978.
Mrs. Leazer spent her early years in the Donnellson and Hillsboro area until moving with her husband in 1939 to the Batavia area. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband.
Survivors include two daughters, Delta Dailey of Magnolia, Texas and Merriam Leazer of Fairfield; 10 sons, Olan, Victor and Jerry, all of Batavia; Keith of Deming, N.M.; Floyd of Great Falls, Mont.; James of Loveland, Colo.; Newell and Leron of Fort Collins, Colo; Garold of Fairfield and Harold of Wilton; 28 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one step-grandchild; four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Aletha Spoor of Fort Madison; and one brother, Dudley Barnes of Joplin, Mo. She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and three great-grandchildren.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Ray Howard officiating.
Burial will be in the Sharon Cemetery near Bonaparte. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday with family visitation from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
