Marion L. Else

Marion L. Else, daughter of Sherman and Lilliam Hill Jamison, was born March 9, 1904 near Keosauqua and died Tuesday night, February 21, 1989 at Burlington Medical Center, Burlington, at the age of 84.

Early in life, she was a school teacher. On December 24, 1925 she married Harold Else at Milton. They farmed in the Lebanon and Cantril communities, and for many years, near Stockport. They retired to Stockport. They retired to Stockport in 1974 and moved to Keosauqua in 1983. Mr. Else preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Else was currently residing at Bethesda Care Center, Mediapolis.

Surviving are a son, Ralph, Grand Prairie, Texas; three daughters, Eleanor Barr, Milan, Illinois, Carolyn Cloke, Burlington, and Mary Stonebraker, Hemet, California; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Loyd Jamison, Cantril.

Mrs. Else was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, and Stockport Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 24, 1989 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Reverend Michael Palmer officiating. Interment was in Pittsburg Cemetery west of Keosauqua.

A memorial was established for the Stockport United Methodist Church.
