Norma R. Ward

Norma R. Ward, daughter of John and Letha Cole Scotton, was born August 23, 1922 in Davis County and died the morning of Tuesday, November 14, 1989 at her home in Farmington at the age of 67. She lived most of her life in Van Buren County, and for many years worked as a cook at Hotel Manning in Keosauqua. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Surviving are three daughters, Peggy Ferneti, Burns, Wyo., Frances Scholl, Houston, Texas and Mary Diephuis, Farmington; three sons, Rodney Ward, Webb City, M., Otto Ward, Branson, Mo. and D.J. Ward, Keosauqua, 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters, Lois Starnes, Tilla Long and Mary Bell, all of Keosauqua, Marty Barker, Fairfield, Doris Snell, Wenden, Arizona and Verna Robinson, Kansas City, Mo. Preceding her in death were a brother, Paul Scotten, two sisters, Alvastine Canaday and Hope Anderson and a daughter, Sheryl Cochran.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 16, 1989 at 2:30 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Interment was in Pittsburg Cemetery, west of Keosauqua. A memorial was established for the family.
