Ford graveside rite Saturday

BIRMINGHAM - The graveside service for Madge Ford, 87, of Riverview Care Center in Des Moines, formerly of Birmingham, who died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1989, at Des Moines, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ford was born Sept. 14, 1901, at Kilbourne, the daughter of Rankin Todd and Anna Town Gilbert. She lived most of her life in Birmingham, where she worked at the Birmingham Tavern and the Birmingham Library. She had lived in Des Moines the last 6 1/2 years. A member of Rebekah Lodge, she attended the Methodist church. She married Eugene Leonard Ford, who died Jan. 13, 1950. A brother, Ivan, and granddaughter also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Morgan of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
