Hazel Dell Lawson dies at 79

Hazel Dell Lawson, 79, of Fairfield, died at 5:30 a.m. today, Sept. 1, 1989, at Parkview Care Center.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham. Friends may begin calling after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Miss Lawson was born Oct. 24, 1909, in Birmingham, the daughter of Walter W. and Eva May Bennett Lawson. She had lived in the Fairfield community and before that in the Birmingham and Keosauqua communities. She was employed by the Keosauqua Creamery for 28 years and at J and B Plastics in Fairfield for 11 years.

A sister, Fern, and two brothers, Lee and Monty, preceded her in death.

Hazel Lawson

Hazel Dell Lawson, 79, of Fairfield died Sept. 1, 1989 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

She was born Oct. 24, 1909, in Birmingham to Walter W. and Eva May Bennett Lawson. A resident of Fairfield, she had previously lived in Brimingham and Keosauqua. She was employed by the Keosauqua Creamery for 28 years and at J and B Plastics in Fairfield for 11 years.

She is survived by a companion, Charlotte Nichols.

The service was held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 1989 at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, the Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
