Muriel L. Van Steinburgh

Muriel L. Van Steinburgh, daughter of Joesph M. and Abigail Haight Keller, was born July 17, 1891 at Oakville, Iowa and died the morning of Saturday, April 8, 1989 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua at the age of 97.

Most of her life was lived in Davis and Van Buren Counties. She was a telephone operator at Troy and Lebanon, lived many years in Cantril, and had resided the past eight years at the Good Samaritan Center.

She was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church.

She married Foster Van Steinburgh July 17, 1909 at Cantril. He died in 1967. A daughter, Helen Halberstadt, two brothers and two sisters, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Martha Wellborn and her husband, Bert of Donnellson, four grandchildren, a sister, Ruth Apostolis, Seattle, Washington, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, 1989, at 1:30 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. Memorials were established for her church and Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.
