Faye C. Nixon

Faye Cora Nixon, daughter of Christopher and Mary Huddleson Peck, was born October 6, 1891 near Stockport and died Monday afternoon, June 5, 1989 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 97.

She lived her life in Van Buren County and in the Cantril community since 1940. She was a homemaker and had been a telephone operator at Cantril.

Mrs. Nixon was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Robert E. Tadlock Unite, American Legion Auxiliary.

She married William Allen Nixon March 2, 1914 at Stockport. He died in 1949. An infant son, Jay William; a daughter, Opal; two brothers; and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Eugene of Cantril; three daughters, Betty Collop, Dallas, Texas, Dorothy Ahner, Hollister, Missouri, and Mary Nixon, Cantril; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June7, 1989 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Reverend Andrew Rubenking officiating. Interment was in Dibble Cemetery, south of Stockport.

A memorial was established for her church.
