Cyril Max Van Patten

Cyril Max 'Sid' Van Patten passed away at his home, after a lengthy illness in Redwood, Calif., Feb. 13, 1989 at the age of 73.

He was born near What Cheer, Iowa Sept. 20, 1916, the son of Robert Earl and Lula G. Mayer Van Patten.

He served in the U.S. Army for four years during World War II. He grew to manhood in the Bonaparte area. He married Grace Hill in 1943. No children were born to this union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife Grace, one brother, Llyod H. of Ukiah, Calif., one sister, Phyllis M. Keller, Fairfield, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. The body was cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Bonaparte Cemetery.

Graveside services for Cyril "Sid" Van Patten, 72, of Redwood Valley, California will be held Friday, May 5, 1989 at 11 a.m. at the Bonaparte Cemetery.

Hofbauer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
