Harriet M. Randolph

Harriet M. Randolph, 76, of Portage, Indiana passed away Sunday, March 19, 1989 at Porter Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 6, 1912 in Morning Sun, Iowa, the daughter of Phillip and Lula (Hendrickson) Wallentine. She had been a Portage, Indiana resident for 16 years.

She was married June 1, 1940 in Fairfield, Iowa to Gerald E. Randolph. He preceded her in death March 16, 1963.

She was a graduate of Donnellson High School and Fairfield Teachers College in Iowa and was a former elementary teacher at several country schools located in southeast Iowa. She was a member of Portage First Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and supervisor of the 2 Year Old-Nursery for 12 years. She was a volunteer at Millers Merry Manor Nursing Home for one year.

Surviving are a son, Stanley Randolph of Portae, Indiana; two daughters, Janet Randolph of Crown Point, Indiana and Donna Stonecipher of Waukegan, Illinois; two brothers, Aaron Wallentine of Mineola, Texas and Homer Wallentine of Irvine, California; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Everett.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22, 1989 at Portage First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Duane Schmidt officiating. Interment was in Bonaparte Cemetery, Bonaparte, Iowa on Thursday, March 23, 1989.

Memorial tributes may be may to the Nursery Department of Portage First Church of the Nazarene.
